January: Sink Combs Dethlefs Awarded the Renovation and Addition to the Muti-purpose Events Facility at Northern Arizona University.

January: Central Park Rec Center in Stapleton, Colorado Celebrates Grand Opening: The Center includes a variety of activity spaces including a natatorium with leisure pool, lap pool, fitness/strength training areas, and a multi-purpose room, aerobics/spinning studio. The project is Certified LEED Gold.

January: Chris Kastelic was named Young Architect of the Year, recognized for significant contributions made during the early stages of an architect’s career that exemplify outstanding built or unbuilt work of any scale, as well as projects, initiatives and brilliant beginnings that warrant attention from the profession or the public.

February: The Trustees at the University of Wyoming select Sink Combs Dethlefs for professional planning and design services to complete the 2011 Athletic Facilities Master Plan. The master plan will require specialized athletic expertise in the areas of swimming, basketball and golf venues along with game day support to improve fan experiences and attendance.

February:Fruita Community Center & County Library Celebrate Grand Opening: After a successful feasibility study and bond referendum, Sink Combs Dethlefs designed the new recreation center for Fruita. The new center will meet a variety of needs identified by the community including aquatic amenities including an indoor leisure pool, a senior center, gymnasium space and mutipurpose meeting rooms.

February: Construction Begins on Project Angel Heart's New Home. The nonprofit organization provides meals to those in Denver that are living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.

March: Sink Combs Dethlefs Awarded 4 New Projects: the Recreation Center Addition at the University of Puget Sound, the Golf Practice Facility at the University of Denver, the Scoreboard Replacement at Western Illinois University and the Allentown, Pennsylvania Arena.

March: Join Sink Combs Dethlefs in the Big Easy!! Stop by booth 932 at the NIRSA Expo to see some of Sink Combs Dethlefs recently opened college and university projects. Chris Kastelic and Jenny Stephens will be heading up the efforts in New Orleans.
