January 2008: CEO, Richard Combs begins AIA Denver Presidential term.

February 2008: Sink Combs Dethlefs, is awarded the design of Fraser Valley’s new Community Recreation Center, Clubhouse at Pole Creek Golf Club and a new Restroom/Concession building at the Fraser Valley Sports Complex.

March 2008: Karen Stanzyk is named Associate.

March 2008: Oklahoma City passes $121.6 million dollar bond to improve the Ford Center. Sink Combs Dethlefs in association with The Benham Group is awarded the project.

April 2008: The Chaifetz Arena, located on the Saint Louis University campus, opened its doors on April 25th. The 10,600 seat multipurpose arena will host concerts, trade shows, athletic events and is the new home to the Saint Louis University Billikens men's and women's basketball teams. [More]

April 2008: Five new exceptional architects have been added to the Denver office.

April 2008: The North Aztlan Recreation Center in Fort Collins, Colorado Earns Gold LEED Certification. [More]

May 2008: Sink Combs Dethlefs announces the opening of the Chicago Office.

May 2008: Eastern Washington University celebrates the grand opening of its new multi-purpose Recreation Center. The new center includes a fitness facility, indoor running track, gymnasium, ice rink, climbing wall, covered parking and a new dining facility. Also of note, the 107,000-square-foot facility is slated to receive 'Silver Certification' from the U.S. Green Building Council.

May 2008: Lindsey Peckinpaugh is named Senior Associate. Ms. Peckinpaugh is also managing the new Chicago office.

May 2008: Recreation Management Magazine names 2 Sink Combs Dethlefs projects for 'Innovative Architecture & Design Awards:

June 2008: Sink Combs Dethlefs in association with Molzin and Corbin Associates were selected to renovate the University of New Mexico football stadium.

July 2008: Don Dethlefs, President and arena expert, asked to speak at the IAAM Conference. Saturday July 26th, 3:00-4:00

September 2008: Corey Fairbanks, SCD Designer and Disabled Athlete is published in Athletic Business Magazine's Cover Story, "Obsticle Course". [More]

October 2008: The US Green Building Council awards the Student Sport & Rec Center at Eastern Washington University LEED Gold certification.
